Kawneer is part of Arconic's Global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.We have an immediate need for a Drafter II in our Harrisonburg, VA office for the Kawneer line of business.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Reviews architectural and structural drawings, specifications, design drawings and sketches, understands product usage and design for application, and reviews with team leaders to ensure correct interpretationsUses computer-aided drafting software and established drafting standards to develop layouts, drawings, and designs that meet engineering specifications Reviews and understands specifications with minimal supervision. Understands project flow from Sales to Estimating to Technical ServicesRead and interpret as sold quotesPrepares shop drawings for standard, modified standard and custom projects using established drafting standards, medium to large in size. Incorporates marked up corrections from internal and external customers with minimal supervision Can self-check standard, modified standard and custom projects, medium to large in size and or check in-house Drafter I or II using established drafting standards. Prepares die drawings for projects at customer request.Has knowledge of a variety of standard products and proceduresWell-rounded knowledge of manufacturing, installation, and glazing processesMeet deadlines to support OTIF (On time in Full)Maintain Consistent Performance (Measured by yearly CIV/COV quality goal)Identify problem areas/non-standard areas of project by reviewing architectural and structural drawings and be able to problem solve these areas. Essential Knowledge Skills and Abilities:AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, specifically Word and ExcelKnowledge of Kawneer product being used in application of specific project - product information, installation instructionsUnderstand other trades and investigate usage if needed.Detail orientedWork with minimal supervision Adheres to policies and proceduresExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Well organizedProblem SolvingTime Management Basic QualificationsHigh School Diploma1-3 years of experience with AutoCADEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
