The Food Services division of Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is hosting an Interview Day on Tuesday, March 7, 2023!

The positions we are seeking to fill include Food Service Worker, Catering Associate and Cook.

As a Food Service Worker with Sentara, you work in the different aspects of delivering food to the patients. This position's primary duties include prepping food and beverages, dishwashing, cashier, and server. There are opportunities for growth for those interested, which would consist of titles like a Cook or Team Leader. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients. As a Catering Associatewith Sentara, you are re sponsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements. Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

As a Cook, you would p repare all hot foods for patient trayline, caf , and functions including (but not limited to) entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items.

Job Summary

Responsible for basic food preparation and service and ensuring that all portions are accurate. Provides all necessary equipment and supplies; maintains sanitation of all service areas and equipment. Follows departmental operating procedures for recipes, menus, quality, and all regulatory guidelines.

Certified Food Service Handler's Card (as required by local Health Department). Experience in Lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.
