Woodshop Assistant (Part-Time, Temporary)
The School of Art, Design, and Art History is accepting applications for a part-time (temporary) Woodshop Assistant in Duke Hall. The Assistant will work 25 hours per week, providing supervision of students working during the Spring 2022 semester only.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Woodshop Assistant will oversee safety of the facilities and equipment usage by students during evenings and weekends, but will also assist with classes during the day when the shops are open and available for students and faculty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Help supervise students and student employees in the woodshop.
Work with students enrolled in Foundations and Art Studio Classes to complete projects in the woodshop.
Help maintain safety protocols for using all tools and equipment.
Maintain a positive and supportive educational environment.
Additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Woodshop Manager or School Director.

Candidate must have experience working in a woodshop. Experience working with students is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent woodworking skills. Candidate should possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to work within a diverse community. Candidate must have evening availability during the week (Monday-Thursday) and Sunday evenings.
