No Is this a grant-funded position? Yes. This is a grant funded position and is contingent upon continued funding. General Information The goal of the DISH Network is to establish, fund, coordinate, and support a multidisciplinary network of partners to develop and test innovative interventions that improve optimal health, prevent teen pregnancy, and ress sexually transmitted infections within the key priority area of youth with disabilities. The objectives of the DISH Network are to: (1) Explore, develop, test, refine, and evaluate many types of innovative interventions; (2) Widely disseminate throughout the project period interventions that are effective; (3) Discover new interventions and partners throughout the duration of the project; and (4) Provide training and technical assistance to network partners as they develop, test, refine, and evaluate many types of innovative interventions. This project is funded by the Office of Population Affairs (OPA). Training/TA & Curriculum Coordinator guarantees that all Disability-Inclusive Sexual Health DISH Network Project Partners and Impact Teams have access to necessary training and technical assistance opportunities. Reflective practice and service within all of the other IIHHS programs offer Institute staff and JMU students rich opportunities to more fully understand how accomplishing the university mission is fundamentally tied to diversity. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Work with project leadership, network partners, and impact teams to create and maintain an integrated system of training and technical assistance opportunities that is inclusive and accessible. 2. Create and implement a yearly Project Training Plan that will include webinars, in-person and virtual workshops and an Annual DISH Network Innovation and Impact Summit. Survey all network partners on a regular basis to determine training and support needs. 3. Work with project leadership, network partners, and impact teams on the development and refinement of interventions and evaluation tools. 4. Plan the Annual DISH Network Innovation and Impact Summit which will include all Innovation Partners, Impact Teams, and the Coordinating Council. 5. Work with network staff and partners to create and disseminate monthly or quarterly informative videos and articles for network partners that include up to date research on best practices for communicating with youth with disabilities about sexual health. 6. Working with curriculum developers, track any curriculum updates and communicate all changes to the evaluation team. 7. To support JMU's and IIHHS' mission and vision to provide outreach programs to the community, provide quality experiential learning and opportunities to JMU students, and to enhance engaged learning and scholarship in the field of health and human services. Qualifications Experience implementing health education programs required. Experience working with youth with disabilities required. Experience planning and leading interactive training's and workshops required. Experience facilitating health education programs preferred. Expertise in sexuality education and teen pregnancy prevention a plus. Experience with the delivery of prevention programming a plus. Ability to follow oral and written instructions is required. Must possess excellent oratory, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. General computer skills required and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Candidates should be ready to succeed in an independent work environment and excel at taking initiative. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, access, and inclusion. Advanced degree (in Health Science, Public Health, Education, Instructional Design, or related field) preferred. Bachelor's degree in a health and human services field preferred.
