Position Overview: Eagle Express Lines, Inc. is looking for a motivated and responsible Full-time HR Assistant. This position provides HR functional support to company employees. Duties include New Employee Onboarding, Relations & Retention functions and providing overall administrative support to the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities: --- Provide backup coverage to Reception, as needed; answer phones & greet visitors. --- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. --- Initiate contact with newly hired employees to ensure that employees are properly assimilating into the organization. Complete 30, 60, 90 day & 6, 9 and 12-month follow-ups. Work with department managers to resolve any issues revealed. --- Assist with completion of new hire Benefit enrollment and answers to benefit related questions. Redirect or elevate anything unable to complete to Benefits team at main office. --- Intake employee calls - concerns and/or complaints. Gather information and help employees resolve issues regarding schedules, benefits, safety, performance, unfair treatment, company policies, etc.; work to resolve, redirect or elevate issues as appropriate. Keep HR Manager advised of issues and updated on resolutions; seek direction/input when necessary. --- Complete various Admin functions (internal transfers, Bereavement requests, address/phone/email changes, status/domicile changes, etc.) --- Perform data entry in various company software programs. --- Prepare DOT/HR new employee files and Onboarding Packets and mailings as needed. --- Prepare letters and spreadsheets as requested. --- Fax/copy/scan/email/file documents. --- Cross-train on employee background screening process. --- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars. --- Other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements: --- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. --- Experience in HR preferred. --- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. --- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. --- Knowledge of business office operations; of filing and administrative clerical operations. --- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and the general public, maintain confidentiality in daily operations and conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner. --- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Advanced level Excel a plus.-- --- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude. --- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate multiple solutions to make sound decisions. --- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
