General Information:
The Undergraduate Student Recruiter plays a pivotal role in
attracting and enrolling prospective students to the College of
Education. This position involves engaging with high school
students, community colleges, and other educational institutions to
promote the College of Education's programs and opportunities. The
recruiter will develop and implement strategies to increase
applications, ensure a diverse student body, and maintain
relationships with key stakeholders.
The role is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and a
proactive approach to recruitment challenges. The position involves
significant travel to high schools, college fairs, and other
recruitment events. Some evening and weekend work is required to
accommodate prospective students and their families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment Strategy and Planning:
o Develop and execute recruitment plans to meet enrollment
goals.
o Identify and target key markets and demographics.
o Analyze recruitment data and adjust strategies accordingly.
2. Outreach and Engagement:
o Represent the College of Education at college fairs, high school
visits, and community events.
o Conduct presentations and information sessions about the
college's programs, admissions processes, and campus life.
o Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors,
teachers, and community college advisors.
3. Admissions Process Support:
o Assist prospective students through the admissions process, from
initial inquiry to enrollment.
o Provide guidance on application requirements, deadlines, and
financial aid opportunities.
o Coordinate campus tours, open houses, and other recruitment
events.
4. Marketing and Communications:
o Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional
materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media
content.
o Use digital platforms to engage with prospective students and
respond to inquiries.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the college's programs, faculty,
and student success stories to effectively communicate these to
prospects.
5. Data Management and Reporting:
o Track and report on recruitment activities and outcomes.
o Maintain accurate records of interactions with prospective
students.
o Use CRM systems to manage and analyze recruitment data.
6. Excellence in Equity:
o Promote the college's commitment to excellence in equity in all
recruitment activities.
o Implement strategies to recruit students from diverse
backgrounds, including underrepresented and marginalized
communities.
7. Professional Development:
o Stay informed about trends in higher education recruitment.
o Participate in professional development opportunities, including
conferences and workshops.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
o Ability to present information clearly and enthusiastically to
large groups.
o Proficiency in using digital marketing tools and CRM
software.
o Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including
evenings and weekends.
