MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to deliver exemplary patient-first pharmaceutical care in line with our commitment to health excellence. In this role, you will oversee medication dispensing, manage patient consultations, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal drug therapy outcomes. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, profound medical knowledge, and a passion for enhancing patient well-being. Dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners. Provide information to patients about medications and their use. Assess the identity, strength and purity of medications. Consult with and advise healthcare personnel on drug dosage, interactions, and side effects. Review prescriptions to assure accuracy and suitability of prescribed therapies. Oversee medications prepared by pharmacy technicians. Maintain accurate records for pharmacy. Comply with drug laws as regulated by the pharmacy board, state and federal regulations. Strong knowledge of drug administration and health & safety guidelines. Robust organizational and detailed oriented skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of operation. Board certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other relevant specialties preferable.
