Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Richmond, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,961 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Willingness to work weekends as assigned - Ability to work with high admission/discharge turnover - No history of attendance concerns Description: This position involves providing care in a medical care unit. The unit has 32 beds and a staff of approximately 45. Day shift staff includes a manager, a clinical coordinator, four RNs, two to three PCTs, and a unit secretary. Night shift staff includes a clinical coordinator, four RNs, two to three PCTs, and a unit secretary until 11 PM. Patient ratios are 6:1. Standard nursing equipment, BiPAP (stable), Mid/Flow, PD, heparin gtts, and cardiac monitors are utilized. The electronic medical record system is Meditech 6.0. Candidates with a positive outgoing attitude and good understanding of HCAHP importance are preferred. Main procedures performed on the unit are related to cardio-pulmonary care, but the unit can receive various general medical patients. Candidates should be able to monitor cardiac needs; however, arrhythmias are typically not treated. Stable COVID-19 patients can be received. The ideal candidate has a positive, can-do attitude, works well within a team, and is self-motivated with self-accountability. Every other weekend and major holidays are required. There is no on-call requirement. The unit has visible and involved leadership on all shifts, with great off-shift support. Teamwork is emphasized across all shifts and throughout the entire team. The nursing staff has varying experiences, ranging from 20 years to new graduates. A collaborative work environment with strong relationships with physicians is promoted.
