Position Summary Information
General Information
James Madison University Occupational Therapy Clinical Education
Services (OTCES) is accepting applications on a continual basis for
part-time PRN OT positions in our pediatric outpatient therapy
clinic. OTCES hires from the Occupational Therapist Pool on an "as
needed" basis depending on departmental needs. Applicants of
interest will be contacted as positions become available.
Schedule may flex from 2 to 29 hours per week, depending on client
caseload and applicants' availability. These are part-time wage
positions with no benefits that cannot exceed 1,500 hours over the
course of a calendar year.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful candidate must (1) be licensed as an occupational
therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OT-A) in the
Commonwealth, (2) be certified in CPR and First Aid.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working with the pediatric population. Experience
working in an outpatient pediatric setting. Experience developing
and implementing specialized groups for children. Additional
certifications in pediatric therapy approaches desirable (i.e.
SIPT, sound-based therapies, NDT, Interactive Metronome, etc.).
Interest in working with graduate students.
Preferred qualities of the candidate include:
(1) creative, (2) flexible, (3) positive, (4) collaborative, (5)
highly organized with ability to multi-task, (6) self-motivated and
self-directed, (7) ability to respectfully and energetically
collaborate with students and colleagues, (8) excellent oral and
written communication skills.
Condition(s) of Employment
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a
criminal background check.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains information
regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such
as: crime prevention, the university police law enforcement
authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures,
protocols for the immediate notification of students and staff upon
confirmation of a significant emergency on campus and other matters
of importance related to security and safety. The report includes
statistics for the most recent three-year period of reported crimes
that have occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or
property owned or controlled by JMU or its affiliates; and on
public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible
from the campus.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes campus housing
fire statistics for the most recent three-year period, a
description of each on-campus student housing facility fire safety
system, the number of fire drills held during the previous calendar
year, policies or rules on portable electrical appliances, smoking,
and open flames in student housing; and procedures for student
housing evacuation in the event of fire along with other fire
safety information.
The JMU Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes the
Harrisonburg campus and the three overseas branch campuses;
