Role OverviewSodexo is seeking a General Manager 4, Food to lead
our food service team at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community
(VMRC), a large continuing care retirement community located in
Harrisonburg, Virginia. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge and
Massanutten Mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, they strive to be a
community of hope, meaning and growth where people can age well and
live fully.The General Manager will oversee the daily dining
operations serving approximately 600 residents. Reporting to the
District Manager, this role involves managing 4 managers and an
hourly staff of approximately 60 employees. Strong communication,
client relations, and team-building skills are essential.What
You'll Do
- Have oversight of the daily dining operations including dining
room service, bistro, and catering;
- Deliver high-quality food service;
- Implement Sodexo systems and programs, and oversee training of
staff;
- Continuously evaluate service to ensure resident and client
satisfaction;
- Drive employee engagement and resident satisfaction through
strong leadership skills;
- Integrate fully within our client's organization and be a
trusted advisor with a customer service focus;
- Achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
- Develop strategic plans;
- Create a positive environment; and

You Bring
- 5 or more years previous food service management experience
with a strong hospitality background;
- Strong financial acumen;
- A strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
- A work history demonstrating strong leadership and hospitality
skills with the ability to work collaboratively;
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate
professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level
of customer service;
- Knowledge of compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall
workplace safety standards;
- The ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take
on additional responsibilities as needed;
- Working knowledge of Food Management Systems, and is proficient
