We are looking for an experienced Focused Factory Manager to join our manufacturing team in Harrisonburg, VA. The Focused Factory Manager will lead a large cross-functional team that includes all team members, team leaders, group leaders, quality, engineering, and continuous improvement within their Focused Factory. This person will guide the Focused Factory in its support of internal and external customer requirements and is responsible for meeting or exceeding all Focused Factory KPI's including safety, quality, delivery and cost. The Focused Factory Manager will coordinate the development of people, processes and capabilities within the Focused Factory. This person will report to the Operations Manager and will become a valued member of our manufacturing team; therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.

The team is ready to act immediately on those candidates who are the best fit for the role. Those candidates will first hear from someone in Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Hiring Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all daily activities within the focused factory
  • Plan and manage all financial aspects of the focused factory (AOP, MRO, capital, etc)
  • Plan and manage all quality, environmental health and safety compliance and regulatory aspects of their focused factory
  • Champion continuous improvement activities (BOS, Lean, TVM, Six Sigma)
  • Drive development of the facility's processes and future capabilities
  • Direct compliance with ISO-14001 and federal, state and local regulatory standards
  • Utilize BOS to develop and execute systems and processes that meet or exceed the focused factory and plant goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Work with the plant staff to set focused factory and personal goals and monitor performance to the AOP
  • Champion the development of all team members, mentor employee performance and establish development and improvement plans
  • Support efforts to implement succession planning for key functional positions
  • Provide resources to support facility and customer needs
  • Prepare and report out regularly in focused factory and plant wide communication meetings

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required. A discipline in Management or Engineering preferred ; Master's Degree is a plus

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 7 years' management experience in high volume, high mix manufacturing
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage in a fast pace environment with cross functional teams
    • Demonstrated success building sustainable processes
    • Track record of continuous improvement
    • Working understanding of finance, cost and accounting principles
    • Proven experience driving employee engagement
    • Experience working in Engineering, Quality or Materials Management
    • Experience in rod machining, chrome plating, grinding and tube manufacturing
    • Knowledgeable of general engineering and manufacturing processes - DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, etc.
