Director, Software Engineering - Consumer Credit Risk Management (CCRM)

As the Director software engineering - CCRM, you'll be responsible for four types of applications: loss forecasting models and orchestration ($6 billion in yearly credit losses), the underlying big data pipelines (five petabyte), single page applications for pipeline monitoring and analytical applications such as credit simulation, and forecasting slice and dice. In this role you will work with Python, Spark, Dask, Javascript, Java and SQL as well as various data frameworks such as pyarrow and parquet.

You will be responsible for Single Page Applications for credit and liquidity oversight. In this role, you will work on web applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks: micro front end, highly-available RESTful microservices, and back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data. You will bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: node.js, Java, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, relational databases, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure to name a few.

You will lead the effort to define and roll out a framework for analytical applications to be deployed across the broader Risk Tech organization, and ultimately the enterprise. The framework will include self service options for data scientists, ETL processes for analytical applications (finding data, labeling data, and detecting / resolving data quality issues), model build, model orchestration, cloud cost optimization, cycle time reduction, visualization (dashboarding, slice and dice and reporting), and automated slide creation.

You will:

- Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product focused software engineers

- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team.

- Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios - Continuously improve software engineering practices

- Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack development tools and technologies

- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions

- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

- Work across to improve the velocity of your and other teams

- Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments

- Break existing monolithic applications into micro service architectures and build new microservices

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree

- At least 7 years' experience in software development

- At least 5 years' experience in people management

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree in analytics or equivalent experience in credit analytics

- 5+ years experience in analytical and forecasting use cases

- 5+ years with big data

- 5+ years of experience in Agile practices

- Fluency in Python and SQL
