responsibility, and professionalismIn support of NSCWDD's B (Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems) Department, Codes B40 and B60, provide sensor systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle from concept exploration through sustainment of US Navy (USN) and US Marine Corps (USMC) radar systemsSystems supported across B40 and B60 include Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS0, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and other sensor systemsResponsibilities Major Job Activities: Support the development and execution of systems engineering plans from requirements identification through design verificationPlan and execute engineering strategies in accordance with approved project acquisition strategies and plans: Perform requested aspects of technical analysis and systems engineering support to facilitate aspects of architecture design, interoperability, specification analysis and development, solutions implementation and systems sustainment of supported projects; Develop test and evaluation documentation, including laboratory testing plans, new technology evaluation documents, usability engineering documents and laboratory testing of SW/MW test articles developed by the product design agent; Research and develop systems / subsystem specification documents, including compliance, completeness and consistency of component and interface requirements with current and evolving system requirements, information architectures, and systemsSupport signal processing activities, to include waveform, clutter management and electronic protection development; designing electronic compatibility into systems; and supporting data collection and analysis to determine effectiveness of signal processing systemsWorking Environment: Duties may be conducted in government or contractor office or laboratory environments, as well as field work in direct support of USN / USMC organizationsThis may include working onboard U.Sand/or foreign naval ships or vessels, on piers, in dry docks, or other field / non-office environments, as requiredPhysical Activities: Travel to USN piers, ships and dry docks as required, as well as between local contractor and Government locationsQualifications Security Clearance Requirement: Candidates Scientist: Minimum twenty (20) years with a Bachelor's degree Minimum fifteen (15) years with a Master's degree Minimum ten (10) years with a Ph.D degree Senior Level Engineer / Scientist: Minimum fifteen (15) years with a Bachelor's degree Minimum twelve (12) years with a Master's degree Minimum eight (8) years with a Ph.D degree Journeyman Level Engineer / Scientist: Minimum four (4) years with a Bachelor's degree Minimum two (2) years with a Master's degree Entry Level Engineer / Scientist: Must meet Education requirementRelated professional experience (military service, internship, etc.) preferredSpecialized Experience: Principal Level Engineer / Scientist: Minimum of eight years of experience in complex radar system engineering, design, analysis, or sensor software developmentMinimum of two years of managerial/supervisory experience sufficient to ensure positive direction / oversight of subordinatesSolid technical background as demonstrated by certifiable experience formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the tasks specified in a contract statement of workDemonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices / principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integrationSenior Level Engineer / Scientist: Minimum of five years of experience in complex radar system engineering, design, analysisDemonstrated experience in complex radar system software requirement definition and allocationSolid technical background as demonstrated by certifiable experience formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the tasks specified in a contract statement of workDemonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices / principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integrationJourneyman Level Engineer / Scientist: Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices / principles necessary to assess advanced
