The Hart School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management at Employer invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Hospitality Management. The position is a Tenure Track appointment beginning in fall 2019. Candidates must be able to be on campus for a start date of mid-August 2019. The position is a full time position in Harrisonburg, Virginia and is benefits eligible. The successful candidate will: Teach undergraduate courses in Hospitality ManagementDemonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teachingProvide evidence of successful publications in hospitality journalsParticipate in collaborative scholarship with faculty across disciplinesEngage in service to the university, community, and the profession The normal teaching load is 3/3. Required qualifications: A Ph.D. in Hospitality Management or closely related field. ABD's are invited to apply.At least one degree in hospitality management.Documented hospitality teaching experience at the collegiate level.Hospitality expertise in one or more of the following areas: Analytics, Human Resource Management, Consumer Behavior, Technology, Strategy, or Marketing.A record of diverse operational, leadership experience within the hospitality field.A record of active scholarship.A 3-to 5-year plan for an active scholarship agenda.
