Position Summary Information
General Information
Community Service-Learning cultivates positive social change
through mutually beneficial service partnerships, critical
reflection, and the development of engaged citizens.
We are currently seeking outstanding students to help us achieve
this mission by working with local nonprofit organizations in the
community surrounding JMU.
Multiple positions are available. Each nonprofit organization
focuses on different social issues and has different goals so
positions vary depending on the community organization.
Examples of previous positions included assisting with answering
phones, event support, data entry, office organization, social
media and web-page upkeep, greeting customers, filing, and so
forth.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist nonprofit organizations with achieving their mission (this
varies by partner, and will be fully detailed in the job
description of your offer)* Display excellent customer service, and
organizational skills - this role includes administrative and
clerical responsibilities (including, but not limited to, answering
phones / emails, taking notes, coordinating schedules, managing
paperwork etc.)
* Treat folx with dignity and respect
* Maintain open communication with supervisor* Attend and fully
participate in bi-monthly group meetings on campus
* Accurately complete, approve, and submit time sheets to
supervisor each pay period
* Complete evaluations each semester with Community
Service-Learning* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE BEEN OFFERED FEDERAL WORK STUDY through the financial

Conditions of Employment
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a
half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for
graduate).
