in our Dulles, VA office. Hybrid position requiring three (3) days
a week in the office. Position Summary The Project Accountant will
be responsible for assigned clients and projects to ensure accurate
invoicing. The Project Accountant will work in collaboration with
Project Management team to understand and translate project budgets
for accurate and timely billing. Monitoring labor and expenses
charged to projects, confirming appropriate accounting coding and
correct project allocation. Effectively communicating with Project
Managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and other
contract modifications, approvals, attending kick-off meetings and
any additional services-related to billing. Preparing final invoice
package containing draft and final invoices for all billable
projects, including all applicable backup for approval by the
Senior Project Accountant. Maintaining billing folders with
invoices and client and Project Manager correspondence. Researching
any unbilled issues to ensure all billable transactions are
captured for the billing period. Performing routine analyses of
accounting project variances, including necessary modifications, to
ensure ongoing project funding. Monitoring contractual deliverables
for on-going projects and assuring final closeouts for completed
projects. In conjunction with project managers, implementing
billing process for new projects as contractually agreed with
clients. Providing Accounts Payable with advice on client billing,
relative to consultant invoicing and reimbursable expenses.
Providing labor cost and job status reports to project managers and
clients as requested. Validating project revenue calculations.
Working with clients and project managers to collect past due
amounts. Required Experience and Education: Working knowledge of
and experience with invoicing Time and Materials, Cost Plus Fixed
Fee, and Fixed Price contracts required. At least one-year
experience of billing. Working knowledge of Costpoint 7.0.1
preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Required Education: High
School diploma or GED. Basic computer skills required. Desired
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred. Work
Environment & Physical Demand: Normal office environment; may be
required to lift to 20 pounds. Required Skills Financial Accuracy -

Ability to Work Well with Others The incumbent in this position can
typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel
for more than 1/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk
for more than 2/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also
expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or
balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be
needed for less than 2/3 of the day. This position requires that
the incumbent be able to lift items up to 70 pounds on an
infrequent basis. The incumbent in this position should have clear
vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various
reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer
monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different
colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus,
and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary. EEO
